The Angel with the Key and the Chain
"Today, you find yourself here at the centre for my Movement in Germany, in order to hold a cenacle with the priests and the faithful who are consecrated to my Immaculate Heart. You are venerating me as the Lady of the Holy Rosary.
The rosary is my prayer; it is the prayer which I came down from heaven to ask of you, because it is the weapon which you must make use of, in these times of the great battle, and it is the sign of my assured victory.
My victory will be won when Satan, with his powerful army made up of all the infernal spirits, will be shut up within his kingdom of darkness and death, from which he will no longer be able to escape in order to do harm in the world.
For this reason, there is to come down from heaven an angel to whom there is given the key of the abyss and a chain with which this angel will bind the great Dragon, the ancient serpent, Satan, with all his followers.
An 'angel' is a spirit who is sent by God to carry out a particular mission.
I am the Queen of the Angels, because it is of the very nature of my role to be sent by the Lord to accomplish the very great and important mission of conquering Satan.
In fact, from the very beginning, I was announced as She who is the enemy of the serpent; She who does battle with him; She who in the end will crush his head: 'I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your offspring and hers. She will crush your head, as you attempt to bite at her heel.' (Gen.3.15).
My offspring is Christ. In Him, who has carried out the work of redemption and set you free from the slavery of Satan, my complete victory is accomplished.
And so, there has been entrusted to me the key with which it is possible to open and shut the door to the abyss.
The key is the sign of the power which belongs to him who is lord and master of a place which belongs to him.
In this sense, He who holds the key of the universe is the Incarnate Word alone, because all things have been made through Him, and therefore Jesus Christ is the Master and King of all the universe, namely, of heaven, of earth and of the abyss.
My Son Jesus alone possesses the key of the abyss, because He Himself is the Key of David, who opens and no one can shut, who shuts and no one can open.
Jesus consigns this key, which represents his divine power, into my hand because, as his Mother, Mediatrix between you and my Son, there is entrusted to me the task of conquering Satan and all his powerful army of evil. It is with this key that I am able to open and shut the door to the abyss.
The chain, with which the great Dragon is to be bound, is made up of prayer made with me and by means of me. This prayer is that of the holy rosary. A chain has in fact the function of first of all limiting action, then of imprisoning, and finally of making ineffective every activity of the one who has been bound by it.
-- The chain of the holy rosary has first of all the function of limiting the action of my Adversary. Every rosary which you recite with me has the effect of restricting the action of the Evil One, of drawing souls away from his pernicious influence, and of giving greater impetus to the expansion of goodness in the life of many of my children.
-- The chain of the holy rosary has also the effect of imprisoning Satan, that is, of making his action impotent, and of diminishing and weakening more and more the force of his diabolical power. And so, each rosary which is recited well deals a mighty blow to the power of evil, and it represents one part of his reign which is destroyed.
-- The chain of the holy rosary brings about, in the end, the result of making Satan completely harmless. His great power is destroyed. All the evil spirits are cast into the pool of fire and sulphur, the door is shut by me with the key of the power of Christ, and thus they will no longer be able to go out into the world to do harm to souls.
You understand now, my beloved children, why, in these last times of the battle between me, the Woman Clothed with the Sun, and the great Dragon, I am asking you to multiply everywhere the cenacles of prayer, with the recitation of the holy rosary, meditation on my word, and your consecration to my Immaculate Heart.
With these, you make it possible for your heavenly Mother to take action in binding Satan, so that I may thus carry out my mission of crushing his head, that is to say, of defeating him once and for all, shutting him up in his abyss of fire and sulphur.
The humble and fragile cord of the holy rosary forms the strong chain with which I will take as my prisoner the dark ruler of the world, the enemy of God and of his faithful servants. Thus the pride of Satan will once again be defeated by the power of the little, the humble and the poor.
As I announce to you today that this, my great victory, is near at hand, the victory which will bring you to your assured liberation, I give you the comfort of my motherly presence among you, and I bless you."

3. Blessed Sacrament. "And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me always." (Ex.25.30).
In his letter to the Clergy, Saint Francis of Assisi exhorted respect and reverence for the Blessed Sacrament.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, the Almighty and Eternity, is of course truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, under each of the appearances of bread and wine, "... the great Mystery, the great Miracle of every day, every hour, every minute. "
Saint Francis' letter is as follows:
"Let us be careful, we clerics, to avoid great sin and ignorance which certain people have towards the Most Holy Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, and His most holy written words which consecrate the [His] body. We know that it cannot become His Body if the bread is not first consecrated by the [His] Word. For we have and see nothing corporally of the Highest One in this world except the [His] Body and Blood, and the words by which we were created and redeemed from death to life (1 John 3:14).
Let all those, then, who administer such holy mysteries - especially those who administer them carefully - consider how base the cups, the corporal cloths and the altar cloths are until they are used to consecrate the Body and Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
And many leave the Body and Blood in unworthy places, carry It through the streets in miserable ways, receive It unworthy and administer It to others without reverence.
Even His sacred, written words are sometimes left to be trodden underfoot, for the man who has not the Spirit of God does not receive the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14).
Should we not, because of all these things, be full of zeal, considering that the good Lord offers Himself into our hands, and we handle Him and receive Him in Communion every day? Are we, perhaps, not aware that we must come into His hands (cf Hebrews 10:31).
Come now, let us amend our ways firmly and at once, in all these things and others, and anywhere the most Holy Body of our Lord, Jesus Christ, might be left lying indecorously, let It be taken from there and placed and locked in a precious place. Similarly, wherever the written words of the Lord are found in unfitting places, let us remember to collect them and place them in a decorous place. And let us be aware that it is our duty to observe all this above all else according to the commandments of the Lord and the precepts of Holy Mother Church. And let anyone who does not do this be aware that he must give an account to our Lord, Jesus Christ, on the day of judgement (Matthew 12:36).
And if anyone makes copies of this writing so that it may be better observed, let him be aware that the Lord will bless him."
4. Saint Joseph's Holy Cloak Novena. On 20 March 1996, Pope John Paul II spoke about Saint Joseph in most glowing terms, as a role model: "... Following Saint Joseph's example, may all believers achieve in their own life, a deep harmony between prayer and work, between meditation on the Word of God and their daily occupations..."
Praying the Novena, The Holy Cloak In Honour Of Saint Joseph, is a special way of honouring and obtaining the patronage of this great Saint, whom Jesus Christ described, in a revelation to Saint Margaret, as His "... most sweet guardian." God of course entrusted Saint Joseph with His most Precious Treasures, Jesus Christ and His Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, who is also our beloved Blessed Mother.
The Novena must be prayed daily for 30 consecutive days, in remembrance of the 30 years that Saint Joseph was with Jesus Christ. Many are the extraordinary graces that can be obtained through the merits of the Novena. Saint Theresa said of it: "... if you really want to believe in it, prove it to yourself by reciting the Novena - and you will be finally convinced."

The Feast Day of Saint Joseph is on 19 March of each year.

5. Saint Anthony - finder of lost-stolen things. Pope Leo XIII once referred to Saint Anthony of Padua as The Saint of the Whole World.
During his life, as still continuing after his death, Saint Anthony wrought many miracles. He particularly merits the title of restorer of lost-stolen things. I am especially grateful for having about 99% of my lost-stolen requests answered by Saint Anthony, by reciting the following prayer:
PRAYER TO SAINT ANTHONY
O, Saint Anthony, perfect imitator of Jesus, who received the special privilege of restoring lost-stolen things, I ask that.................... may be found, if such is the will of God.
Then pray 1 "Our Father" and 1 "Hail Mary."
Saint Anthony was also an ardent defender of the true Word of God.

6. Saint Thérèse Of The Child Jesus (Little Flower). Say the following prayer every day for nine days. By the fourth day, ask for a sign if the prayer is to be answered. You will see a sign of a rose, smell of a rose, or see it in a magazine. You must promise publication.
Miraculous Invocation to Saint Thérèse
O glorious Saint Thérèse, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and counsel mankind, I implore your Miraculous Intercession. So powerful are you in obtaining every need of body and soul our Holy Mother Church proclaims you a "Prodigy of Miracles ... the Greatest Saint of Modern Times." Now I fervently beseech you to answer my petition (mention here) and to carry out your promises of spending Heaven doing good upon earth ... of letting fall from Heaven a Shower of Roses. Henceforth, dear Little Flower, I will fulfil your plea "to be made known everywhere" and I will never cease to lead others to Jesus through you. Amen.
I am especially grateful for having had my prayer answered by Saint Thérèse.
7. The Gospel... as It was Revealed to Maria Valtorta (1897-1961†). One of the most astounding and wonderful discoveries that I have made, concerns the private revelations and dictations that Maria Valtorta got from Jesus Christ Himself, Son of God, concerning the meanings of the Holy Gospels of St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke, and St. John.
Maria also got other Heavenly revelations and dictations.
All these revelations and dictations are a precious Gift and Treasure that Jesus has given to His Church and to modern man in these times. I thank Jesus for having led me to these wonderful revelations and dictations.
Essentially, without getting into too much detail for the moment, the salient facts are these. Jesus Christ appeared personally, over a number of years, to Maria Valtorta who was confined to bed, and dictated to her His meanings of the four Gospels that are recorded in the New Testament section of the Bible. Maria recorded these meanings in Italy, in Italian, while confined to bed. These meanings have already been translated into other major languages including English.
"Publish this work as it is... whoever reads it will understand... " -- Pope Pius XII.
Even though I have only read snippets of these revelations and dictations so far, I am very enthusiastic about them, and cannot get enough of them. "... and the sheep are attentive to his voice ... and the sheep follow him, recognising his voice..." (John 10.3-5.)
"If this is man's design or man's undertaking, it will be overthrown; if it is God's, you will have no power to overthrow it. You would not willingly be found fighting against God." (Acts 5.38-39).
"But do not think that you will go unpunished for having tried to fight against God!" (2 Mac.7.19.

8. Jesus' Work... His "miracle of charity to attempt the second salvation of the human race." This Miracle of Jesus Christ, Son of God, is of course the Gospel that He revealed to Maria Valtorta (1961†). Jesus calls this particular Gospel, His "Work," which seems to have already been prophesied by Saint John:
"I saw, too, another angel flying in mid-heaven, carrying with him a final gospel to preach to all those who dwell on the earth, to every race and tribe and language and people." (Apoc.14.6).
But rationalism and all the vast tools of this science have been utilised against Jesus' Work, in order to thwart the widespread publication and dissemination of this wondrous and joyous miracle of Jesus, His "miracle of charity to attempt the second salvation of the human race." Jesus, Son of God, Our Lord and Saviour, the Almighty and Eternity, has reserved dire consequences for those who have opposed His Work, especially for those who have used pride, the sign of Satan, the first sign of Satan who, formerly as Lucifer, used pride to rebel against God.
Jesus says: "Where there is pride, God is not. Be certain of that. Where there is pride, there is no Faith. Satan is there, and Satan is a most skilful juggler in seducing man and making tin-foil picked up in the mud seem to him like genuine gold." [The Writings of Maria Valtorta.]
According to Maria Valtorta:
Jesus Christ explains...
"I attempt the last trials in order to inflame the souls that are no longer living souls, but automatons endowed with movement, and not with intelligence and charity. My work -- from the beginning of this century, the last of the second millennium -- is a miracle of charity to attempt the second salvation of the human race, especially of priestly souls without which the salvation of many is impossible. I substitute Myself for the empty pulpits, or the pulpits blaring words without true life. But few are those who are worthy of comprehending Me. Few even among My ministers..."

9. Saint Michael the Archangel. Saint Michael is the Archangel of battle and defender of Heaven.
"Fierce war broke out in heaven, where Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought on their part, but could not win the day, or stand their ground in heaven any longer; the great dragon, serpent of the primal age, was flung down to earth; he whom we call the devil, or Satan, the whole world's seducer, flung down to earth, and his angels with him." (Apoc.12.7-9).
The "man" mentioned hereunder is generally assumed to be Saint Michael the Archangel:
"When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man stood before him with his drawn sword in his hand; and Joshua went to him and said to him, 'Are you for us or for our adversaries?' And he said, 'No; but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.' And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshipped, and said to him, 'What does my lord bid his servant?' And the commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, 'Put off your shoes from your feet; for the place where you stand is holy.' And Joshua did so." (Josh.5.13-15).
Of course, then mighty Jericho, even with its seemingly impregnable high walls, was easily and utterly destroyed by Joshua and his army. But we know why.
"And yet, when the archangel Michael held debate with the devil, in their dispute over the body of Moses, he did not venture to accuse him insultingly; he was content to say, 'May the Lord rebuke thee.' " (Jude 1.9).
In 1950, Pope Pius XII named Saint Michael the Archangel as the patron of policemen.
Many people seeking protection may petition Saint Michael the Archangel for help against wrong-doers on Earth, or for protection from crime, or from physical or spiritual enemies.
"... Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me ..." (Dan.10.13).
Prayer of exorcism to Saint Michael:
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Pope Leo XIII composed the above efficacious prayer of exorcism, in consequence of a horrifying apocalyptic vision he had circa 13 October 1884, during which episode he saw demons and heard Satan voice boasting that he could destroy the Church and drag the world to hell. God replied that he, Satan, would not succeed in destroying the Church.
There are of course other writings suggestive of the frightful battle to be fought by Satan and Saint Michael the Archangel over the Church. Satan will lose, and he knows that the time of his defeat is fast approaching.
Another prayer to Saint Michael:
Michael, Michael of the morning,
Fresh chord of dawn adorning,
Keep me safe today
And in time of temptation,
Drive the devil away.
Amen.
29 September is also the feast of the Archangels Gabriel and Raphael.
10. Saint Germaine Cousin. Saint Germaine (also known as Germana), virgin, was born at Pibrac (near Toulouse), France, in 1579, died there in a barn all alone in 1601 aged 22 years old, and canonised in 1867 by Pope Pius IX.
Saint Germaine's relics, still wholly intact and incorrupt, reside and are venerated in the Chapel of St. Francis de Sales in Pibrac, France.
Many cures and miracles have been attributed to Saint Germaine after her death. Two popes, Pius VII and Pius IX, asked for her intercession to be delivered from their captivities, and their prayers were answered.
Saint Germaine's life is an inspiration to all, especially those afflicted with deprivations and sufferings. She had physical deformities that attracted the hatefulness of her stepmother.
Rejected as a young girl from about 5 years old by her presumed (but not entirely certain) natural father and stepmother, she was unloved, unwanted, and abused. And she was driven out of their family home on the farm, to live out of sight and alone in their barn, from which, nonetheless, she grew to great heights of holiness to love God. And God loved her immensely. At times, God even parted the rushing waters of the river she had to traverse, so that she could go to the church on the other side, in order to attend Mass on time.
Saint Germaine was forced to live mainly on bread and water, and her bed in the barn consisted of a litter of straw and vine branches. She even shared some of her meagre rations with beggars who at times visited her to beg for food.
From her early childhood onwards, Saint Germaine no doubt had a very hard life, and a hard time mostly from her own "loved ones." Her life's story cannot obviously be narrated in this very short article, but books on her life abound. She obviously had no modern support groups or facilities as we know them as exist today, no shallow modern psychology, and no chemical aides such as anti-depressants. But she did not turn to crime. Nor did she blame society. Instead, holy great Saint Germaine turned to the Lord Jesus Christ, and found Him abundantly sufficient.
My opinion is that Saint Germaine should also be the inspiration of all street kids, and of all those who suffer at the hands of their own "loved ones."
Prayer to Saint Germaine:
O Saint Germaine, look down from Heaven and intercede for the many abused children in our world. Help them to sanctify these sufferings. Strengthen children who suffer the effects of living in broken families. Protect those children who have been abandoned by their parents and live in the streets. Beg God's mercy on the parents who abuse their children. Intercede for handicapped children and their parents.
Saint Germaine, you who suffered neglect and abuse so patiently, pray for us. Amen.
11. Prophecy of Blessed Anna Maria Taigi -- 3 days of darkness and chastisement. In 19th century Italy, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi was a mother and an exemplary wife.
Blessed Anna Maria Taigi, whose body is still wholly intact and incorrupt, worked miracles of healing, had frequents ecstasies, could read hearts, foretold deaths, and saw visions of future events including the two world wars of the 20th century.
In particular, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi foretold of the coming three (3) days of darkness and chastisement, as follows:
"God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy."
"All the enemies of the Church, whether known or unknown, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of a few whom God will soon convert. The air shall be infected by demons who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms."
"Religion shall be persecuted, and priests massacred, Churches shall be closed, but only for a short time. The Holy Father shall be obliged to leave Rome."
Similar prophecies as Blessed Anna Maria Taigi's have been given by many other holy people of God.
As a reminder of a previous chastisement long ago, in the Old Testament, when Lot was told to flee from Sodom because of the impending destruction of both Sodom and Gomorrah, he and his family were told not to look back at the chastisement and destruction. Lot's wife disobeyed, looked back, and was turned into a pillar of salt. (Gen.19.26).
The following is believed to have been a private revelation given, on 23 January 1950, by Our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, to Saint Padre Pio:
"Pray! Make reparation! Be fervent and practice mortifications. Great things are at stake! Pray! Men are running toward the abyss of Hell in great rejoicing and merry-making, as though they were going to a masquerade ball or the wedding feast of the devil himself! Assist Me in the salvation of souls. The measure of sin is filled! The day of revenge, with its terrifying happenings is near -- nearer than you can imagine! And the world is sleeping in false security! The Divine Judgement shall strike them like a thunderbolt! These Godless and wicked people shall be destroyed without mercy, as were the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah of old. Yes, I tell you their wickedness was not as great as that of our human race today!"
12. Prophecy... of Saint Padre Pio -- 3 days of darkness and chastisement. Saint Padre Pio was born on 25 May 1887 in Pietrelcina, southern Italy. At about the age of 15, he entered the novitiate of the Capuchin Friars, and was ordained a priest in 1910.
On 20 September 1918, Saint Padre Pio received on his body the Stigmata -- the 5 wounds of the Passion of Jesus Christ.
Saint Padre Pio devoted most of his time to prayer, austere living, and suffering. He had a deep love for the Blessed Sacrament and Our Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary. Countless people were attracted to his confessional and many received his counsel in many issues. He passed away on 23 September 1968. Among his many quotations was the following:
"Do not disturb your soul at the sad spectacle of human injustice .... One day you will see the inevitable triumph of Divine Justice over it."
The following are believed to be excerpts from the "Translation of a copy of a personal letter written by Padre Pio [1887-1968] addressed to the Commission of Heroldsbach appointed by the Vatican which testifies to the truth and reality of these revelations given by Our Lord to Padre Pio, a Capuchin priest who bore the stigmata."
1949:
"My son, My son, I have been longing for this hour in which I again shall reveal to you the great love of My heart... Pray and make reparation to Me. Admonish others to do the same because the time is near at hand in which I shall visit My unfaithful people because they have not heeded the time of My grace. Persevere in prayer, so that your adversary shall have no dominion over you. Tell My people to be prepared at all times, for My judgment shall come upon them suddenly and when least expected -- and not one shall escape My hands, I shall find them all! I shall protect the just. Watch the sun and moon and the stars of the Heavens. When they appear to be unduly disturbed and restless, know that the day is not far away. Stay united in prayer and watching until the angel of destruction has passed your doors. Pray that these days will be shortened."
23 January 1950:

28 January 1950:
"Keep your windows well-covered. Do not look out. Light a blessed candle, which will suffice for many days. Pray the Rosary. Read spiritual books. Make acts of Spiritual Communion, also acts of love, which are so pleasing to Us. Pray with outstretched arms, or prostrate on the ground, in order that many souls may be saved. Do not go outside the house. Provide yourself with sufficient food. The powers of nature shall be moved and a rain of fire shall make people tremble with fear. Have courage! I am in the midst of you."
7 February 1950:
"Take care of the animals during these days. I am the creator and preserver of animals as well as man. I shall give you a few signs beforehand, at which time you should place more food before them. I will preserve the property of the elect, including the animals, for they shall be in need of sustenance afterwards as well. Let no one go across the yard, even to feed the animals -- he who steps outside will perish! Cover your windows carefully. My elect shall not see My wrath. Have confidence in Me, and I will be your protection.
Hurricanes of fire will pour forth from the clouds and spread over the entire earth! Storms, bad weather, thunderbolts and earthquakes will cover the earth for two days. An uninterrupted rain of fire will take place! It will begin on during a very cold night. All this is to prove that God is the Master of Creation. Those who hope in Me, and believe in My words, have nothing to fear because I will not forsake them, nor those who spread My message. No harm will come to those who are in the state of grace and who seek My Mother's protection.
That you may be prepared for these visitations, I will give you the following signs and instructions: The night will be very cold. The wind will roar. After a time thunderbolt will be heard. Lock all the doors and windows. Talk to no one outside the house. Kneel down before a crucifix, be sorry for your sins, and beg My Mother's protection. Do not look during the earthquake, because the anger of God is holy! Jesus does not want us to behold the anger of God, because God's anger must be contemplated with fear and trembling.
Those who disregard this advice will be killed instantly. The wind will carry with it poisonous gases which will be diffused over the entire earth. Those who suffer and die innocently will be martyrs and they will be with Me in My Kingdom. Satan will triumph! But in three nights, the earthquake and fire will cease. On the following day the sun will shine again, angels will descend from Heaven and will spread the spirit of peace over the earth. A feeling of immeasurable gratitude will take possession of those who survive this most terrible ordeal, the impending punishment, with which God will visit the earth since creation.
I have chosen souls in other countries too, such as Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, who have received these revelations so that other countries also may be prepared. Pray Rosary, but pray it well, so that your prayers may reach Heaven. Soon a more terrible catastrophe shall come upon the entire world, such as never before has been witnessed, a terrible chastisement never before experienced!
How unconcerned men are regarding these things! Which shall so soon come upon them, contrary to all expectations. How indifferent they are in preparing themselves for these unheard of events, through which they will have to pass so shortly! The weight of divine balance has reached the earth! The wrath of My Father shall be poured out over the entire world! I am again warning the world through your instrumentality, as I have so often done heretofore.
This catastrophe shall come upon the earth like a flash of lightning! At which moment the light of the morning sun shall be replaced by black darkness! No one shall leave the house or look out a window from that moment on. I Myself shall come amidst thunder and lightning. The wicked shall behold My Divine Heart. There shall be great confusion because of this utter darkness in which the entire earth shall be enveloped, and many, many shall die from fear and despair.
On that day, as soon as complete darkness has set in, no one shall leave the house or look from out of the window. The darkness shall last a day and a night followed by another day and night, and another day-but on the night following, the stars will shine again, and on the next morning the sun shall rise again, and it will be SPRINGTIME!! In the days of darkness, My elect shall not sleep, as did the disciples in the garden. They shall pray incessantly, and they shall not be disappointed in Me. I shall gather My elect. Hell will believe itself to be in possession of the entire earth, but I shall reclaim it.
Again and again I have warned men, and often have I given them special opportunities to return to the right path; but now, wickedness has reached its climax, and the punishment can no longer be delayed. Tell all that the time has come in which these things shall be fulfilled."
"Surely the Lord God does nothing
without revealing his secret
to his servants the prophets."
(Amos 3.7).
13. God or Satan... whom have you chosen ?? -- a vision of Satan. Don't know? Want to know? Then read on, about the choice a person actually makes by reason of the deeds done by him, and as a result of not repenting and not seeking forgiveness by God. "... Return to the Lord, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and repents of evil." (Joel 2.13).
In the Holy Gospel according to Luke, Jesus Christ said: "He who is not with Me is against Me..." (Lk.11.23). Going against Jesus may well mean choosing Satan.
Satan, whose "... primeval name was Lucifer: in the Mind of God it meant 'banner-bearer' or 'light-bearer.' " Satan, who formerly as "Lucifer ... was the first and most beautiful of the spirits created by God." Satan rebelled against God and was thrust into hell.
According to the writings of Maria Valtorta, whose private revelations were direct from Jesus Christ and were quite profound and astounding, on 20 July 1943 Maria was shown a vision of Satan.
Though frightened by the horror of the loathsome sight of Satan, Maria nonetheless recorded what she saw, and hereunder is her description of the Beast of Darkness, and the response of the Beauty of Light, Jesus Christ, Son of God, the Almighty and Eternity.
"... It is since the evening of the 18th that the good Jesus shows me a horrifying, ugly beast, so horrifying that it disgusts me and I want to scream. And the good Jesus makes me understand that its appearance is always less than the reality, because no human reality could reach an exact imitation of supreme Beauty and supreme Ugliness.
Now I describe the ugly beast.
I seem to see a great hole: black, black, and very deep. I understand that it is very deep, but I do not see anything but its opening, completely occupied by a horrible monster. It's not a serpent, it's not a crocodile, it's not a dragon, it's not a bat, but it has something of all four [of these].
A long and pointed head without ears and with two sly and savage eyes which are always hunting for prey; a very wide mouth and armed with quite sharp teeth, always intent on catching in flight anything careless that arrives within range of its jaws. To sum up, its head has much the form of a serpent, and its teeth are like a crocodile's. A long and flexible neck allows much agility to the dreadful head.
An ugly, slippery body covered with skin like that of an eel, that is, without scales (to help you understand), with a colour between rust, violet, dark grey. . . I really don't know. It even has the colour of leeches.
At its shoulders and at its haunches (I say 'haunches' because there its throbbing belly swollen with prey ends, and its long tail begins which terminates in a point), are attached four short and webbed paws like those of a crocodile. At its shoulders, two ugly bat-wings.
The ugly beast does not move its great, loathsome body. It only moves its tail, which writhes back and forth like an 'S,' and it moves its horrible head with its fascinating eyes and murdering jaws.
O Divine Mercy! What an ugly, awful beast! From its black den spurts darkness and horror. I assure you that yesterday, as I saw it with a very vivid accuracy -- and didn't understand what it was about to do -- the desire came to me to scream with disgust. A good thing that I saw it was never looking toward me as if from revulsion. A mutual revulsion if ever there was one. If this is a pale representation of Satan, what ever will he [really] be? It's to die twice over just to see him.
A good thing too that if, in one corner, was the awful beast, very near [also] was my Jesus: white, beautiful, blond . . . Light in light! Comparing the luminous, comforting figure of Christ with that of the other, His most sweet, clear gaze with that wicked one of the other, is truly to weep with unhappy sinners destined for the second, [the beast], because they have rejected Jesus.
Well then, now that I have seen . . . I don't want to see him anymore because he is too ugly. I will pray that the least possible [number] of such unfortunate [sinners] end up in his clutches, but I pray the good God to take away from me this sight.
Today it is less vivid and I am most grateful to the Lord for that. And I am still more grateful that the dear Voice makes me understand the reason for that Vision which yesterday terrorised me, believing that it was destined for me as a warning."
Jesus Christ responds...
"Consider [Maria] My Radiance and My Beauty with respect to the black monstrosity of the Beast.
Have no fear of looking even if it is a repulsive spectacle. You are within My arms. He cannot draw near and harm you. You see him? He does not even look at you. He already has so much prey to follow.
Now does it seem to you that it is worth your leaving Me to follow him? And yet the world follows him and leaves Me for him.
Look how glutted and throbbing he is. It is his hour for feasting. But look also at how he seeks out the shadow to act. He hates the Light, and he calls himself Lucifer! You see him, how he hypnotises those who are not marked with My Blood? He heaps up his efforts because he knows that it is his hour and that My hour draws near in which he will be conquered eternally.
To increase his prey, his infernal cunning and Satanic intelligence are a constant working of Evil, in opposition to Our One and Triune working of Good. But cunning and intelligence would not prevail if My Blood and their honest will were in men. Man lacks too many things to have the weapons to oppose the Beast, and It knows that and acts openly, without even veiling Itself with a deceptive appearance.
Let Its loathsome ugliness push you to an always greater diligence and an always greater penitence. For you and for your unfortunate brothers who have a soul bereaved or seduced and do not see, or, seeing him, run to meet the Fiend, even to have his help for an hour, and to pay with an eternity of damnation."
