Citizen Initiated Referenda

Entertaining Public Officials, And Giving Them Gifts 

Citizen Initiated Referenda... must be legalised.    What we desperately need is citizen initiated referenda, in order to curtail the abuses of power and trust by governments and especially by government instrumentalities such as municipal councils. These public servants now see themselves as masters of the people, not their servants or representatives. The threat of violating the dignity and human rights of people is real today as in times past.

With citizen initiated referenda, we would truly have government by the people, and it would also be real democracy, as conceived and practiced in ancient Athens circa 508 BC, when the people themselves as individuals actually voted on important proposals on matters of state. With today's computer technology, this real concept of democracy is feasible and achievable. The only problem and obstacle are the major political parties. They would not want to relinquish some of their power and their domination of the people.

In today's times, citizens should be able to get together and enact legislation for a government, or government instrumentality, to implement and administer. The current systems of elected governments are no longer functioning as originally intended. These systems are now producing governments that are really dictatorships by alternating elected major political parties, not by duly elected real representatives of the people, and such governments are becoming increasingly arrogant and indifferent about being blatantly dictatorial.

These governments and instrumentalities have moved away from representing and implementing the interests and wishes of those who have elected them. They are now saying that they will do what they, themselves, determine and, if their voters do not like what has been done, then they, the voters, can kick them, these governments or instrumentalities, out of office at the next election. This new system is not representative government as practiced in the past, but an alternating elected dictatorship.

This degeneration must be stopped, and it can be stopped, by having citizen initiated referenda.

Court Of People's Justice, Without Lawyers... must be legalised.    A special People's Court must be legalised now in order to allow ordinary people the means to seek justice, in simple procedures without legal jargon, without lawyers, and without needing to have expert knowledge of the laws. Ordinary people instinctively know what's right and what's wrong, and who's right and who's wrong.

Current laws are much too convoluted and massive, and therefore effectively unknowable even though they have been expressly stated and written down on paper. The exorbitant and excessive high costs of seeking justice according to such laws mean that justice is often available only for the rich, the very few, and not for the ordinary people, the vast majority. In this environment, the rich can easily oppress poor people by the process of simply just starting a lawsuit, covertly in order to have them incur massive legal costs, so as to squash them by bankruptcy.

Electoral Campaign Donations... must be banned.    There's an old saying, that money talks. It talks so silently that it's usually completely inaudible. And nowhere is this true than in politics, where the money provided is usually euphemistically called, electoral campaign donations.

The problem with these donations is that we do not really know whether they are genuine donations in order to assist a political party or a candidate for an election, or whether in fact they are just subtle bribes paid for current or future favours. The solution to removing the uncertainties involved is patently simple. They must be completely banned, and made illegal with severe penalties. In this way, a level playing field would be created for everyone, equally for the very tiny minority who usually provide electoral campaign donations, as well as for the rest, the vast majority who do not or who do not ever wish to do so. 

Surely such a level playing field of not having electoral campaign donations would be adduced as being fair, as least by the vast majority of people who view fairness as being a virtue.

Entertaining Public Officials, And Giving Them Gifts... must be banned.    Exactly when does extending due courtesy to public officials, such as providing them with coffee and two biscuits, stop, and lavishly wining and dining and giving them gifts become payola? Surely such lavish entertainment constitutes covert bribing of public officials in order to extract favours not normally available to everyone else in the community, in a level playing field.

The major stumbling block with trying to stop such lavish entertainment of public officials is that some of them, themselves, view such payola as being the perks of the job. And that is exactly why sometimes a regulatory authority fails, miserably, no matter whatever safeguards are in place. There is no defence to, or safeguard against, a public official looking the other way or simply not looking at all. A sense of obligation to having been entertained bears down on that public official, as a restraining influence preventing him from exercising due and proper regulatory control, without fear or favour. 

All entertainment of, and gifts to, public officials must be banned immediately and completely, with severe penalties.

Hell... by Saint Maria Faustina, who visited Hell, and came back to tell the story.     Saint Maria Faustina said:

"Today, I was led by an angel to the Chasms of Hell. It is a place of great torture; how awesomely large and extensive it is! The kinds of tortures I saw:

1. The First Torture that constitutes hell is: The loss of God.
2. The Second is: Perpetual remorse of conscience.
3. The Third is: That one's condition will never change.
4. The Fourth is: The Fire that will penetrate the soul without destroying it. A terrible suffering, since it is a purely spiritual fire, lit by God's anger.
5. The Fifth Torture is: Continual darkness and a terrible suffocating smell, and despite the darkness, the devils and the souls of the damned see each other and all the evil, both of others and their own.
6. The Sixth Torture is: The constant company of Satan.
7. The Seventh Torture is: Horrible despair, hatred of God, vile words, curses and blasphemies.

These are the Tortures suffered by all the damned together, but that is not the end of the sufferings.

INDESCRIBABLE SUFFERINGS. There are special tortures destined for particular souls. These are the torments of the senses. Each soul undergoes terrible and indescribable sufferings related to the manner in which it has sinned.

I WOULD HAVE DIED. There are caverns and pits of torture where one form of agony differs from another. I would have died at the very sight of these tortures if the omnipotence of God had not supported me.

NO ONE CAN SAY THERE IS NO HELL.  Let the sinner know that he will be tortured throughout all eternity, in those senses which he made use of to sin.

I AM WRITING THIS AT THE COMMAND OF GOD, SO THAT NO SOUL MAY FIND AN EXCUSE BY SAYING THERE IS NO HELL, OR THAT NOBODY HAS EVER BEEN THERE, AND SO NO ONE CAN SAY WHAT IT IS LIKE…how terribly souls suffer there! Consequently, I pray even more fervently for the conversion of sinners. I incessantly plead God's mercy upon them. O My Jesus, I would rather be in agony until the end of the world, amidst the greatest sufferings, than offend you by the least sin."
