Available for sale is a non-exclusive licence to use the Cosepp Technology v5 suite of computer systems comprising the Shares Information System v5, the Automated Names, and Addresses System v5, the Races Information System v5, the Generate Lotto Simulated Random Numbers v5, and the Utilities v5. On occasions, the Shares Information System v5 is further articulated in the monthly newspaper, The Cosepp Financial Analyst

The licence fee is $A1,920 (GST inclusive), and there are no other fees or charges payable to us for you to use the systems. The main features of the systems are as follows:

SHARES INFORMATION SYSTEM v5

'... helps you manage your shares portfolio as well as other assets.'

This System can be used principally to help manage a shares portfolio, and can also be used, with some slight modifications and different interpretations, to help manage other assets such as properties, bonds, term deposits, cash held with cash management trusts, and so on.

Data can easily be retrieved from the System, and the information displayed on the computer screen, either globally, individually, or by group, including calculations of market values, costs, capital gains, yearly income, dividend yields, price earnings ratios, capitalisation, and other information.

In short, once the data has been input to the System, it will then tell you -

  1. where your money is invested;
  2. how your money is performing; and
  3. how diversified your portfolio is,

all of which is essential information to know before embarking on further stock picking adventures or divestment.

AUTOMATED NAMES, AND ADDRESSES SYSTEM v5

'... helps you manage your names, addresses, and other valuable data.'

This System is essentially an archival tool. It can store a lot of data about individual persons and organisations.

The more advanced features of the System include the following -

RACES INFORMATION SYSTEM v5

'... helps you to become more rational, and a better punter.'

This System can be used principally to ascertain -

  1. whether a wager can be placed on ALL the runners in a race (e.g. horses, pacers, greyhounds, and so on) so that whichever runner wins the race, the punter makes a profit; and
  2. if the computer program says that such a profit is possible, then it would calculate how much money, out of a given total amount, i.e. out of the punter's total wagering bank, is to be wagered on each runner, so that, no matter whichever runner wins the race, the punter ends up recovering his original total amount plus a profit.

A variant of the System would be to wager on a selected smaller number of runners in a race, i.e. a panel of runners out of which it is expected the winner will emerge. This modified use of the System, however, is much more riskier, as the total amount would be lost if a runner outside the selected panel were to win.

Even if the System tells you that a profit is not possible, at least you will be able to ascertain how bad the odds are on offer. This information should then help you to decide, in respect of any other form of betting you may wish to contemplate on such a race, whether such odds are really worth the risk for the potential reward hoped for. After all, that's what wagering and gaming is all about, a weighing up of the risk of losing an investment and the desired reward.

It should be borne in mind that the computer program is not a selection system, but a staking system which can ascertain the correct wager to place on all the runners in a race, as mentioned above.

Essentially, then, the System is an arbitrage staking system that seeks to take advantage of any imperfections in the betting market.

For example, in a betting ring on a race course, one bookmaker may offer, say, 4:1, for a particular runner; but on the other side of the ring, someone else may be offering, say, 5:1. You keyin all the best odds on offer, and the System will then calculate whether or not you can back every runner in the race so that, whichever runner wins the race, you get all your money back plus a profit.

The System will calculate how much to wager on each runner based on the odds keyed in by you, and on the size of your wagering bank. It is the odds on offer that determine whether a profit is possible, and not the size of your bank.

You can also use a panel of runners. This option is riskier because you can lose all your wagering bank, but the return would be relatively higher if successful.

If you cannot back every runner in the race, at least you will be able to know how bad the odds are on offer. If the odds are so bad, you might get better odds in other races, or elsewhere entirely e.g. playing the roulette wheel.

For example, if in respect of a race having, say, 10 runners, a bookmaker were to give you the odds of, say, 1000:1 for each and every runner, then obviously the odds would be good. On the other hand, if he were to give you the odds of, say, 1:1000 for each and every runner, then obviously the odds would be bad. In each case, it is patently obvious whether the odds are good or bad.

However, in between these two examples, the situation is not so obvious, but the System can work it out correctly whether the odds are good or bad.

In addition, the System -

All in all, then, you are helped to learn to see things in a different light. In your approach to punting, you are helped to see things more systematically and more rationally.

The System helps you to become more rational, and a better punter.

GENERATE LOTTO SIMULATED RANDOM NUMBERS v5

'... is a random number generator.'

This System generates Lotto simulated random numbers, e.g. 1 number out of 2, 6 numbers out of 44, and so on, up to a maximum of 99 numbers out of 99999.

 UTILITIES v5

'... useful things to have.'

These utilities consist of a number of useful things to have, e.g. telephone dialling and redialling, calculator, calendar, and so on.

The telephone dialling and redialling utility is particularly useful during times when, say, there is a new public share float, and the telephone number given to dial up for inquiries and/or to procure a prospectus becomes overloaded and is always busy. This utility allows Cosepp Technology v5 to dial and redial continually for you automatically, while you just sit back and do nothing... until you get a connection. The utility also allows you to set the time interval between redialling.

There is also a free electronic book contained therein called , 'Contemporary Discourses', with topics on Economics, The Bourse (stock exchange), Gold, Poetical, Humour, Inventories, and Popular Leaders.

There's plenty there for just...  $A1,920 (GST inclusive).
